What it does

The zigbee smart button sits on your bedside table, a white 50 × 50 mm disc you can also lay flat against a wall. Press it once and the light goes off. Press it twice and the light comes back on, and the plug under the floor lamp and the curtain motor follow the same scene. It ships direct from China, so it costs less than branded devices in local shops.

This zigbee wireless switch is a round white button, 50 × 50 mm, that runs on a CR2032 coin cell. It sits loose on a desk or a bedside table, or lies flat against a wall or another surface. The top face is the only part you touch.

Set it up with a Tuya Zigbee gateway that is linked to your Wi-Fi router. The button talks to the gateway over Zigbee, and the gateway runs the scene you choose in the Smart Life app. Single press, double press and long press can each run a different scene. A single press turns a light off and a double press turns it on. The result happens at the linked device.

It suits you if you already use Tuya devices and have a Zigbee gateway, or if you plan to add one. This wireless push button switch will not work without a gateway, it does not connect straight to your Wi-Fi router, and it is never wired to a light or an appliance or plugged into a mains outlet or USB charger. If you want a button that talks to your router on its own, this is not it.

  1. DOES NOT WORK with ZigBee! This is a 1 Button device but it has the firmware of a 6 Button device. My reading suggests that this is a common failure of manufacturers of cheap ZigBee buttons/switches/remotes. Home Assistant forums have many threads complaining about this problem on many different devices. The actual button does not toggle any of the SIX "switch" controls detected by Home Assistant.

  2. Came fast and without any damage. Battery was included. You need a zigbee hub like it says in description and you can use it to control other zigbee devices. You might need some tweaking to use it with non-zigbee devices so I would recommend that your light bulbs are also zigbee.
