What it does

This portable white noise machine stands on a shelf, and its cry sensor starts music when it hears crying. You tap the sun icon for a night light, see the room without the ceiling light, and pick from 30 sounds and a 30, 60 or 90-minute timer.

The owl is a small ABS unit that holds a speaker, a night light and a cry sensor in one shell. It plays 30 sounds from its own speaker. When the cry sensor hears crying, it starts the music by itself and shuts it off after 30 minutes, and the night light gives you a soft glow for night checks without switching on the ceiling light.

Set-up is buttons only. Press the power button in the centre of the owl's front to start it. The night light button with the sun icon and the timer button with the clock icon are on the left. Skip-sound and volume are on the right. As a rechargeable white noise machine, it charges over USB and plays from its own battery.

Stand it on a flat shelf or table, out of a child's reach. Never put it in, on or hanging from a crib, cot, bassinet or stroller: its fabric loop, ring and charging cable can be dangerous near a baby or young child.

It suits any room where you want steady sound and a light you can carry. If you want to run it from your phone, this one is not for you. There is no app and no pairing. Everything is controlled on the owl itself.

Ships from China with tracking. The estimated arrival range for your country is shown next to the price.

  • Starts the music when it hears cryingA cry sensor sits inside the owl. When it hears crying, it starts music on its own and stops after 30 minutes. It doesn't replace checking on your baby.
  • See the room without the ceiling lightThis white noise machine with night light keeps the sound and the glow in one place. Press the sun icon on the front and the light comes on while the sound keeps playing. The skip button moves to the next sound, so you can change it in the dark by touch.
  • Stands on a shelf, runs on its batteryThe owl stands on a flat shelf or table, out of a child's reach, and plays from its battery with no cord while it runs. Don't hang it by its loop near a baby or young child.
  • Turns itself off on a timerThe timer button sets 30, 60 or 90 minutes of play, and the owl stops when the time is up. Set it once and you don't have to reach over again.

  2. Very nice, the only downside is that the light is very dim but the sounds are good! I recommend it.

  3. It's really amazing, it has a lot of sounds, including fire, wind, rain, people talking, city, train, crickets, birds, and also lullabies. My baby just stares at it and calms down while I can change his diaper.

  4. The product is small but it sounds great and has some nice noises for the baby. The only downside I see is that it doesn't have much light; I thought I could use it as a night lamp, but no.

  5. Wow, this is great! Exactly what I was looking for, although the lowest sound there is relatively loud but not too bad, it really does the job and there are lots of sounds, a bit strange and incomprehensible but in a small way.

  6. It's bigger than I thought. It has many different melodies. It's a bit difficult to control the volume, but otherwise it's very good.

Questions

Where should it go?

Stand it on a flat shelf or table, out of a child's reach. Never put it in, on or hanging from a crib, cot, bassinet or stroller: its fabric loop, ring and charging cable can be dangerous near a baby or young child.

How do I set it up?

No app and no pairing. Press the power button in the centre of the owl's front. Night light and timer buttons are on the left, skip-sound and volume on the right. It stands on a flat shelf or table straight away.

Do I have to keep it plugged in?

No. It runs on a rechargeable battery and charges over USB, so it plays from a shelf away from a socket.

How long does it play before it turns off?

You set 30, 60 or 90 minutes with the timer button and it stops when the time is up. When the cry sensor starts the music on its own, it shuts off after 30 minutes.

Can I control it from my phone?

No. All control is on the buttons on the owl's front. There is no app to pair, which also means you cannot start it from another room.

Why does it ship from China?

We buy from established suppliers in China, and they ship your order straight to you. The trade-off is time, so you see the estimated arrival before you pay.

Will I pay anything when it arrives?

Possibly. Import duties and taxes for United States aren't prepaid yet, so the courier may collect them on delivery. Nothing is added to our price at checkout.
