What it does

This bluetooth soundbar puts fuller sound on the shelf under your TV, so voices and music come through at a volume you can hear from the sofa. Thin built-in TV speakers are the usual problem: you push the volume up and the sound still feels small and flat. This bar is shipped direct from China, so it costs less than branded devices in local shops.

The bar sits on a shelf or TV stand directly below the TV, with four front-facing drivers pointing at the viewer and a rear inverted bass tube at one end. It runs 2.0 stereo sound through those 5 W drivers, and you can switch between Standard, Live Sound and 3D Surround Sound. As a soundbar with bluetooth 5.3, it takes audio from a phone, tablet, laptop, PC, TV box, game console or the TV itself.

Setup is short. Pair a device by Bluetooth, or plug a red and white RCA cable or a 3.5 mm AUX cable into the jacks on the rear and side panel, or drop in a TF/micro-SD card or a USB drive. The bar runs on its battery and charges through the DC/USB port on the same panel with a 5-20 V DC USB source. No power adaptor comes in the box, so you charge it with a USB source you already own. Control comes from the touch buttons on top or the remote.

It suits a living room, bedroom or study where the TV speakers sound thin and one bar under the screen is all you want. It is not waterproof, so it belongs indoors. It is made to sit flat on a shelf below the TV, not to be mounted on the wall above or behind the screen or carried as a handheld speaker. There is no app for it, so everything happens from the bar and the remote.
