What it does

This cob LED strip light comes on by itself when someone walks within about 0 to 3 m of the sensor, so the stair risers under your feet or the shelf you are reaching into light up before you find a switch. It ends the dark edge you walk past every evening and the one lamp you left burning for it. It costs less than branded strip lights because it ships direct from China, with no brand markup.

The strip runs on 5 V DC and carries 320 COB LEDs per meter, so the light reads as one smooth line under a shelf, along a bed frame or up a stair riser. The white battery box connects to the strip by a short cable at one end and holds the PIR motion sensor. When someone walks within about 0 to 3 m and a 120° angle, the strip lights up.

Set-up is peel and press. Peel the blue backing, press the tape onto a clean surface, and cut it at the marked cut lines every 2.5 cm to fit the run. The VHB tape backing holds it flat along an edge. Mount the box upright or flat right beside the strip. The box has a button and a USB-style port. Batteries are not included.

It suits indoor surfaces: under a bed frame, along a wardrobe shelf and upright, on stair risers, or under a sofa. Choose cold white for a cool, clear light or warm white for a yellowish-white glow, in 1 m, 2 m, 3 m or 5 m lengths.

It does not suit outdoor or wet spots, because it is not waterproof. There is no phone app and no remote: the sensor and the button on the box are how you work it. The strip does not plug into a wall outlet or a mains adapter. The sensor box needs to stay linked to the strip by its cable.

  3. I choose COLD WHITE and I thought strip be white also, but is yellow. But that is just my personal problem and I hope it'll work for my personal project. Otherwise it works goo and light is nice.

Will it work as a kitchen cabinet led strip?

Yes. It is made for cabinet and kitchen lighting, and the 4 mm wide tape on this motion sensor cabinet light presses flat under a cabinet run or along a shelf edge. Cut it at the marked lines every 2.5 cm to match the length of your cabinet, and pick 1 m, 2 m, 3 m or 5 m.

Is it hard to set up?

No. Peel the blue backing, press the strip onto the surface, and cut it at the marked cut lines if you need it shorter. The battery box sits upright or flat beside the strip and links to it by a short cable. There is no wiring to a switch or a socket.

What does it need to run?

It runs on 5 V DC from the battery box at the end of the strip, so it is a battery powered LED strip light with no cord to an outlet. Batteries are not included. There is a button on the box you press to work the light.

Can I control it from a phone app or a remote?

No. It has no app and no remote. The PIR sensor turns the strip on when someone walks within about 0 to 3 m and a 120° angle, and the button on the box is the manual control.

Can I use it outdoors or in a damp spot?

No. The strip is not waterproof, so it belongs on indoor surfaces such as a wardrobe shelf, a bed frame, stair risers or under a sofa. Keep it out of rain, sinks and anywhere it can get wet.
