What it does

The automatic curtain opener rides along your curtain track and pulls the curtain open or closed for you. No more yanking fabric first thing in the morning or reaching behind the bed to close it at night. You press Open, Stop or Close on the handheld remote, wait for a timer in the Smart Life/Tuya app, or ask by voice, and the motor travels along the rod and takes the curtain with it. A built-in battery runs the motor at 4 W, and the charging port sits on the bottom of the unit, so there is no power cable hanging at the window.

This motorized curtain opener moves the curtain you already have. The motor hangs on the curtain track or rod and pulls the fabric open or closed when you press Open, Stop or Close on the handheld remote, when a timer in the Smart Life/Tuya app comes around, or when you ask by voice. The built-in battery runs the motor at 4 W, so no power lead hangs at the window.

Set-up follows the track. The white motor body hangs on a U, T or Rome rod, and its two top wheels sit on the rod so the motor can drive along it. Two supplied clips and two hooks attach the motor to the curtain, and the motor then pulls the curtain along the rail. A USB-style charging port on the bottom recharges the built-in battery.

This smart curtain motor suits a room with a curtain on a U or T track or a Rome rod, where you want the fabric moved at set times, from the couch, or by voice. It does not suit a set-up where the motor has to be fixed flat on the wall or the window frame, and it is not meant to run from a mains socket as its main power source. The clips and hooks are small parts, so keep them out of a child's reach.

  1. It works very well, but the lighting sensor is bad, it doesn't work. For small curtains it's perfect, the battery lasts a couple of weeks if not used very frequently and the curtain doesn't weigh much.

  4. The pairing of this device is not smooth as any devices need to be paired. It was paired in the first time, but later when It was taking forever to be paired with the Zigbee gateway. The reset button does not work properly to start the process of pairing. Even when I tried to factory reset it, it failed. These are dual smart curtain robot, i.e., when paired one of them the other one paired automatically and works. When I tried to pair them to the zigbee gateway, they are unlinked to each other. One of them could be paired, but the other never respond to the pairing process.

  5. Functional components such as my curtain's rings needed modifications so they wouldn't get stuck when running in the tube. Finally, I managed to get it working. One of them fell and broke, but I managed to repair it. For the purpose I bought it for, it works perfectly.
