What it does

This PTZ security camera shows two live views of your home on one phone screen, so you can watch the driveway and the front step at the same time. It ends the slow lean toward one grainy wide-angle feed while you try to work out who is standing at the door. It ships direct from the source, so you pay for the camera instead of a brand name on the box.

This 4k wifi security camera covers the outside of a house, a shop or a yard from a single mount. It is an outdoor ptz camera with two lenses in one body: a square module on top and a pan-tilt dome below with the lower lens. Open the iCSee app on your phone and both views appear side by side. Pan and tilt the lower lens from the screen to follow the driveway or the gate. The 8 MP sensor records in 4K, so an entry point is readable rather than a blur.

Set-up starts with the bracket. You fix the bracket to a wall, an eave or a vertical pole with the two antennas pointing up, and a thin cable runs down the wall to a power outlet. Both lenses stream over 2.4 GHz WiFi to the iCSee app. In the app you split the screen between the two lenses, switch night-vision modes, and turn on two-way audio to speak to someone at the door. The camera detects people and follows them on its own. Video goes to a microSD card up to 256 GB or to the cloud.

It suits a driveway, a yard, a gate or a shop entrance where one fixed lens shows you only half of what happens. It does not suit a spot without a power outlet in reach or without a 2.4 GHz WiFi signal. It runs from its plug, so it is not a battery camera. Both lenses stay in one body and cannot be split and mounted on separate walls.

• Keeps the video on a card or in the cloudFootage records to a microSD card up to 256 GB or to the cloud. The 64 GB version has the card in the set, while the no SD card version leaves the slot free for a card of your choice.
