Motion sensor night light, Type-C rechargeable LED strip

What it does

A motion sensor night light comes on when you walk into a dark kitchen, hallway or wardrobe. It ends the walk through the house in the dark. Fix the strip under a cabinet, on a wardrobe side or beside a doorway. When you move within about 3 m (10 ft) and a 120° arc, it lights up and switches off about 25 seconds after you stop. Charge it through the Type-C port on the end. No wiring, no switch.

This LED night light is a slim strip with a small PIR sensor window at one end. It lights a path at floor, counter or rail level when someone walks past, then switches off on its own. It draws 0 to 5 W and gives out under 60 lm, so it suits seeing where you step. A whole room needs more light than this strip gives.

Fix the strip by its back to a flat surface under kitchen cabinets, on wardrobe rails or sides, along a bed-frame edge, beside a mirror, a doorway or a wall, or on wine-cabinet shelves, horizontally or vertically. It runs on a built-in rechargeable battery, so no mains wiring is needed. Charge it through the Type-C (5 V) point on the end face. There is no app and no remote: the sensor decides when the light comes on. Point the sensor end toward the area where people walk, and do not fix it to the ceiling pointing up. Only a charging cable goes in the Type-C point. It carries the CE mark.

It suits dark hallways, stairs, cabinets, wardrobes and bedside areas where you want light only while someone is moving. It does not suit anyone who wants to control a light from a phone, dim it or set a schedule, and it is not meant to replace a ceiling light. Keep it out of a child's reach, and never place it in or beside a crib, cot or bassinet.
