Automatic pet water fountain filter pads, curved foam

What it does

This foam pad keeps the water in your automatic pet water fountain clear of hair and grit. When the old pad clogs, the pump pushes the same dirty water around the reservoir and the flow over the tray slows. Lift the top tray, drop in a new pad, and water drains back through two foam layers.

Each pad is a curved, two-layer foam block: a fine white layer over a coarse black or blue layer. It sits in the curved filter compartment under the raised top tray, inside the clear reservoir. As the water drains back down through the foam, hair and fine impurities stay on the pad instead of going back to the pump.

To change it, lift off the top tray, take out the old pad, drop the new one into the compartment, and set the tray back. The pump keeps running through all of this: it stands in the water at the bottom of the reservoir, pushes water up the arched spout over the top tray, and the water flows over the tray and down through the pad. Its cable runs out to a USB power bank or adapter, so no hub, app or Wi-Fi is involved. This is the pad for an automatic cat water fountain with a clear reservoir and that curved compartment, and the same pad does the filtering in a circulating cat water fountain that runs all day.

What you get is filter pads. The fountain, the top tray and the pump are not in the box, and this is not an automatic feeder. The pad belongs in the filter compartment. It will not work laid flat on the reservoir floor over the pump, hung on the outside of the bowl or on the spout, or used on its own as a sponge.

• Hair and grit come out before the water returnsThe pad is a curved two-layer foam block: a white fine layer over a black or blue coarse layer. Water drains back down through both layers into the reservoir, so hair and fine impurities stay out of the pump and off the tray. • Change the pad without moving the pumpLift off the raised top tray and the curved filter compartment is right underneath. Take out the old pad, drop in the new one, and set the tray back. The pump stays standing in the water at the bottom, with its vertical tube and arched spout where they were.
• Curved to sit in the filter compartmentEach pad is kidney-shaped with two foam layers, made to sit in the curved filter compartment under the raised top tray. Water drains back down through the pad to reach the reservoir. It does not belong flat on the reservoir floor over the pump or hung on the outside of the bowl.
• Pick 3, 6 or 12 padsEvery order is one pack of replacement foam pads. The 3 pack gives you three changes, and the 6 and 12 packs mean fewer times you have to order again. Only the pads are in the box: the fountain, top tray and pump are not included.
