How to choose: Climate and air
Humidity. Indoor air feels comfortable at about 40–60% relative humidity. Below that, skin and eyes dry out, especially with heating or air conditioning on; above it, condensation and mould become more likely.
CO2. Fresh outdoor air is around 420 ppm. Indoors, levels above about 1,000 ppm are a sign the room needs airing, and a monitor with a CO2 sensor shows when to open a window.
Humidifiers. A small tank suits a bedroom overnight. Fill it with clean water, and empty and dry it regularly so bacteria can't grow. Matter devices can be added to Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or SmartThings (those apps may need their own hub); Smart Life devices use their own app, which links to Alexa and Google Home.
