Wireless meat thermometer with IP67 probes and LCD booster

What it does

A wireless meat thermometer shows the meat's temperature on a screen while it cooks, so it comes off the grill when it reaches the number you set. No more cutting into a chicken breast to guess and finding out at the table. Push the probe tip into the meat and leave the handle out. The booster stands on the side table, and its LCD screen shows the current temperature against your target, with an alarm icon when it gets there.

This kit keeps one or two probes in the meat while a booster with an LCD screen sits outside and shows the temperature as it rises. Set a target on the booster or in the app, and the screen shows the current reading against it, with an alarm icon when the meat reaches the number you chose. Used as a wireless bbq thermometer on a grill or in the oven, it works the same way: probe in the meat, booster outside, numbers in front of you.

Set-up is short. Push the probe tip into the meat and leave the handle out in the air. Nothing runs between the probe and the booster or the phone. The booster stands up on its kickstand on a counter or a side table, and it stays out of the oven and off the grill, since only the probe goes into the meat. The booster is rechargeable. In the app, chicken and beef and pork presets are there to pick, and a graph tracks the cook over time.

It suits a cook who wants one cut watched on the BF-30 or two on the BF-40. It does not suit anyone who wants the booster inside the oven or grill with the food, and it does not join a smart home system: it runs on the booster and the Grill BT5.0 app. The probes have pointed tips and the kit has small metal parts, so keep everything out of children's reach when it is not in use.

• Read the temperature without touching the meatThe probe is a slim metal stick: the pointed tip goes into the meat and the handle stays out. It sends its reading to the booster with no cable between them, so the booster screen shows the climb from the side table. You leave the roast alone until the number says it is ready.
• IP67 probes rinse clean under the tapAs a waterproof meat thermometer, the probes carry an IP67 rating, so rinsing them under the tap after the cook is within that rating. Marinade and meat juices come off the metal probe. The rating covers the probes; the booster with its screen stays on the counter.
• Set the target and watch the graph climbIt is a bluetooth meat thermometer that runs the Grill BT5.0 app on your phone. Pick a preset for chicken or beef and pork, or set your own target, then watch the current reading against it, like 105.4°F against 120°F, on a time and temperature graph. An alarm icon shows when the target is reached.
• Track two cuts on their own with the 2-probe kitThe 2-probe kit, BF-40, has one black probe and one white one, and the booster has a slot where both dock. Each probe is tracked separately as Black and White, so a steak and a roast can be watched at the same time. The single-probe kit, BF-30, has one probe and a booster without a slot.
