What it does

A wired oven thermometer probe keeps the display on the counter while the probe stays in the roast, so you read the current temperature and your target without opening the oven door. The left reading shows THERMO TEMP, the right shows SET TEMP, and a rear slider switches between COOK and TIMER.

This remote food thermometer reads the temperature of meat or liquid while it cooks. The metal probe goes into the food and connects to the display unit with a braided-steel cable. The display stays outside the oven and shows two readings at once: the current temperature on the left and the target you set on the right.

Set-up is short. Push the probe tip into the food, plug the cable into the probe port on the right side of the unit, and stand the display on the counter using the rear fold-out stand, a magnet, or a hook. Three buttons run the unit: MIN/up, SEC/down, and °C/°F S/S. A rear slider switches between COOK and TIMER, and the timer counts in MIN:SEC up to 99:59 with S/S to start or pause.

It suits roasting, grilling, and anything where you want to watch the temperature from the counter with the oven door shut. The probe works in a liquid too, and it can hang over the rim of a pot or glass while the reading shows on the display. It does not suit anyone who wants a phone app or a wireless probe. The probe is connected to the display by a cable, the unit is not a smart device, and nothing is controlled from a phone. Keep the display outside the oven or the food; only the probe goes in.

  • Check the temperature with the oven door shutThe probe goes into the meat or liquid while the display stays outside the oven. A braided-steel cable runs to the port on the unit's right side, so you read the temperature on the counter instead of opening the oven door. The unit stands on a rear fold-out stand, a magnet, or a hook.
  • Current and target temperature side by sideThe display shows two readings at once. The left 'THERMO TEMP' is the current temperature of the food or liquid, and the right 'SET TEMP' is the target you enter with the buttons. You can see how close the roast is without doing the math at the oven door.
  • A MIN:SEC timer that runs up to 99:59A rear slider switches the unit from COOK to TIMER. The timer counts in MIN:SEC up to 99:59, and the S/S button starts or pauses it, so you can time a rest or a bake on the same counter unit.
  • Read in °C or °FOne of the three buttons switches the display between °C and °F, so you can follow a recipe written in either scale. The same button handles S/S for the timer.

It's obvious producer wanted to make a copy of a good food thermometer, but there is big difference if we compare with original thermometer: Please see on a photo original gefu and the one i got - they looks quite similar, but when you hold it in your hand it's obvious material quality is not the same; Also very difficult to open battery compartment; It's giving quite similar temperatures, difference is 1 degree only, but the reaction is a bit slower; And the final - there is no "off" button! ! ! So, the only way to turn it off is to remove the battery!!! It's very inconvenient... So, it's working, most probably suitable to help cooking, but the quality is so-so; 3 stars of 5 only

All I can say about the product is that it works well; I don't think the battery compartment cover will be durable, but the temperature alarm and countdown function work very well. Furthermore, it is useful that there are multiple ways to store data. small magnet, foldable leg, and can be hung up. I bought it for making homemade cheese because the length of the measuring sensor is in a metal housing, so it can be sterilized and nothing burns on it.
